"You're entitled to know": Piers Morgan reveals names of "royal racists"

Piers Morgan has revealed the names of the senior royal family members who allegedly made "racist" comments about baby Archie's skin colour.

Mystery has surrounded the new royal family exposé Endgame, written by Omid Scobie, after he claimed to know which royals allegedly made the comments when Meghan Markle was pregnant with her first child.

Then, in a Dutch translation of the book being sold in The Netherlands, the names were accidentally printed in an "error", but kept out of the press for legal reason.

But now, controversial British journalist Piers Morgan has revealed the names that feature in the translated book, which is quickly being cleared from shelves, saying people have the right to know.

On Wednesday’s episode of Piers Morgan Uncensored, the British broadcaster revealed the names of the two royals who allegedly had “concerns” about baby Archie's skin tone, although saying he doesn't believe any such comments were made.

He explained to his viewers that he doesn’t “believe any racist comments were ever made by any of the royal family,” he felt that his fellow citizens had a right to know information that only a handful of readers from another country were inadvertently privy to.

“Frankly, if Dutch people wandering into a bookshop can pick it up and see these names, then you — the British people here, who actually pay for the British royal family — you’re entitled to know, too.”

According to news.com.au and Page Six, Morgan said the names are King Charles III and Princess Kate Middleton.

Despite Morgan's claims, Page Six has been unable to verify which names were accidentally revealed.

Given the controversy surrounding the book, Xander Publishers announced that it received a request from the United States to abruptly halt sales of the book.

“I can’t talk about the details,” a spokesperson for the publishing house said in a statement.

“We have, however, received a request to put the title on hold, and that is what we have done. We are awaiting further instructions. I do not know how long this will be.”

Tragic confirmation of Julian Sands' death

Missing British actor Julia Sands has been confirmed dead at age 65.

Californian hikers discovered human remains in the surrounding area where the actor was said to have vanished, and the remains have now been identified as Sands, according to authorities.

"The identification process for the body located on Mt. Baldy on June 24, 2023, has been completed and was positively identified as 65-year-old Julian Sands of North Hollywood," the San Bernardino Sheriff's Department said in a statement.

"The manner of death is still under investigation, pending further test results," it continued.

"We would like to extend our gratitude to all the volunteers that worked tirelessly to locate Mr. Sands.”

Sands’ tragic death comes days after a search and rescue was resumed by the San Bernardino Sherrif’s Office, which had been leading the searches for the missing actor over the past six months.

The local region experienced wild and uncharacteristic weather which led to a more difficult search.

Sands was first reported missing in January after setting out to hike the notoriously dangerous Mount Baldy, which rises more than 10,000 feet (approx. 3048 metres) east of Los Angeles and has been hit with severe storms during their winter season.

"We continue to hold Julian in our hearts with bright memories of him as a wonderful father, husband, explorer, lover of the natural world and the arts, and as an original and collaborative performer," the statement said.

Sands’ family released a statement at the time of his disappearance, saying, "Our heartfelt thanks to the compassionate members of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department who are coordinating the search for our beloved Julian, not least the heroic search teams listed below who are braving difficult conditions on the ground and in the air to bring Julian home,”

Sands’ son Henry also released a statement in April to praise the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department for their continued efforts in rescuing his father.

"I am hugely appreciative for all the efforts made so far from the volunteer search and rescue climbers and the San Bernardino county sheriff team to bring my father home," Henry Sands told The Times.

"It was a pretty nasty bang": Freddie Flintoff airlifted to hospital

Andrew “Freddie” Flintoff is recovering from a "nasty" accident while filming for Top Gear, according to his friend Piers Morgan.

The former English cricketer, 45, was airlifted to hospital on Tuesday after receiving medical care at the scene, following a crash at an aerodrome in Surrey.

Piers said he had spoken to Freddie's family, and said the TV host is remaining in good spirits.

“I’m told it was a pretty serious crash and that Freddie’s going to be OK, but it might be a little bit more serious than first appreciated,” he told talkSPORT.

“I’m told he’s going to be OK, which is great news, but I’m also told it was a pretty nasty bang and that he’s had surgery and is recovering now and we’ll have to wait and see."

“I’ve been in contact with them privately but I just want to wish him and his family – Rachael, his wife – all the very best and I think we’re all just keeping our fingers crossed that the big man comes through all right.”

It is understood that the crash did not happen at high speed, with all health and safety precautions said to have been in place.

The health and safety watchdog said it was “aware and making inquiries” after the BBC reported the incident, as was standard procedure.

A BBC spokesperson said at the time, “Freddie was injured in an accident at the Top Gear test track this morning, with crew medics attending the scene immediately. He has been taken to hospital for further treatment and we will confirm more details in due course.”

Piers Morgan lashes out at Meghan Markle and Prince Harry

Piers Morgan has once again lashed out at Meghan Markle and Prince Harry but this time over their Netflix doco series trailer.

The trailer for the $157 million show dropped just hours after Prince William and Kate Middleton arrived in the US.

The official Netflix account shared the trailer for the show with the caption reading: “Harry & Meghan. A Netflix Global Event. Coming soon, only on Netflix.”

This has however infuriated renowned journalist Piers Morgan for being “so ghastly, so repugnant, so dripping in sanctimony and fake hammy ‘woe-is-us’ acting, that I felt my intestines physically recoil in abject disgust.”

“Imagine bleating constantly about privacy, including repeatedly suing news organisations for intrusion, and then making a kiss-and-tell reality show about your private lives?

“Or preaching endlessly about compassion, yet once again trashing your family on global television?”

The six part series will tell Harry and Meghan’s story after they left the royal family.

Harry & Meghan. A Netflix Global Event. Coming soon, only on Netflix. pic.twitter.com/ysxaCcESP4

— Netflix (@netflix) December 1, 2022

“I had to do everything I could to protect my family,” Prince Harry says in the trailer.

And Meghan is quoted saying: “When the stakes are this high doesn’t it make more sense to hear our story from us?”

“No one sees what goes on behind closed doors” Harry continues as an image of the pair pops up with Meghan holding her head and crying while on the phone.

Piers went on to point out everything the couple have done since leaving the royal family, including Meghan’s podcast calling out the monarch, or the new book Harry is writing.

“The couple’s hypocrisy is truly mind-blowing, but so is the malevolent intent,” he continued.

“I expect this kind of thing from Markle who disowned most of her own family in her ruthless stampede to fame and fortune and has now manipulated her dimwit husband to do the same to his.

“But for Harry to do this to his own brother, William, is an unforgivable act of treachery,” Piers said about the trailer dropping in the middle of the new Prince and Princess of Wales’ first, and vitally important big trip to America since the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

“Every time I think the Sussexes have plummeted as low as they can go, they go lower.

“They’re an absolute disgrace and as I’ve said many times, King Charles should strip them of all remaining titles and cast them out from any more connection to the Royal Family – before they destroy it and bring down the Monarchy.”

Images: Netflix

Loved ones remember newlywed bride who died on her honeymoon in moving funeral service

Family and friends have gathered to commemorate the “kind-hearted spirit” and “unconditional love” of the newlywed bride who tragically died in a golf buggy accident on her honeymoon in an emotional funeral service

Marina Morgan, 29, had only been married to husband Robbie Morgan for 10 days when she died in a freak accident on the couples honeymoon in Hamilton Island.

At 9 am on Saturday the 2nd of July, hundreds of friends and family filled St Mary & St Merkorious Coptic Orthodox Church in Rhodes – the same place Marina and Robbie were married.

A funeral notice posted to the church’s Facebook page in Arabic and English referred to her as the “bride of heaven”.

Several men, including her husband, carried her coffin into the building and onto the altar, where a photo of Marina on her wedding day was placed on top of the casket.

After prayers filled the church, friends and family shared their memories of Marina’s life.

Marina’s brother, Mark Hanna, described his sister as a “sweet, young, independent woman who was loved by everyone.”

“She was beautiful inside and out, loved to laugh, and always had a positive outlook on life.”

In his emotional eulogy, Mr Hanna described the strong bond he shared with his sister.

“I've lost someone who I shared so many things … we always shared with each other our hidden fears, and now it feels as though I’ve lost a part of myself, leaving a wound that stretches from the middle of my ribcage to the bottom of my gut,” he said.

“It’s very difficult to accept that our gorgeous Marina is no longer here with us.

“I will do my best to not let this scar be the death of me,” he promised as he broke down in tears.

“Mum, dad, husband Robbie, me, your extended families, cousins, uncles, aunts, friends and everyone who knew you will never forget you.”

While Mr Morgan did not stand to speak during the funeral, he briefly spoke to media after.

“I can’t explain the sadness in my heart, my wife was loved by so many,” Mr Morgan said told reporters after the funeral.

Cousin Miriam remembered her “partner in crime” who lived her life “fearlessly” and vowed to do the same.

In a bespoke poem, Miriam also described how Marina fulfilled her life’s goal of getting married, filling her family with pride.

“We never thought that day would be your last,” she recited.
“To marry her soulmate Robbie and to be a bride, while always filling her family with so much love and so much pride

While Mr Morgan did not get up to speak, the priest told the church how he had recalled the couple’s last few days together.

“Please see this as a celebration. She is in a better place now alongside God and his angels.”

Mrs Morgan’s casket was carried outside and placed into the back of a hearse, before it was driven to Rookwood Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest.

Images: Facebook

"Only the good die young": Tragic twist in honeymoon death

The newlywed bride who died in a tragic golf buggy incident on Hamilton Island was due to get married last year but instead it was delayed because of Covid.

Marina Hanna, 29, and husband Robbie Morgan were due to get married on July 24, 2021 but because of lockdown and density limits they decided to delay their ceremony.

But it wasn't until June 11, 2022, that the loved-up pair were finally able to say their vows in a lavish ceremony at Sydney’s Doltone House.

The newlyweds then finally made their way to Queensland’s Hamilton Island for their honeymoon.

The pair were travelling on a golf buggy - the main form of transportation on the island on June 20 when Morgan did a U-turn, causing the buggy to tip over.

A doctor, off-duty dentist and off-duty firefighter rushed to the scene and desperately performed CPR for 35 minutes on Marina, who unfortunately could not be revived.

“(This) is proof that the good die young,” Robbie’s brother Matty said of Marina’s passing.

Queensland Police Inspector Anthony Cowan announced in a press conference that Marina was not wearing a seatbelt while in the buggy.

“It was just a tragic accident with a golf buggy,” he said.

“There may have been some inexperience driving those type of vehicles while turning it has rolled on its side and the woman has fallen out and sustained life-threatening injuries.”

“It just appears inexperience in driving that type of vehicle, turned too quick and rolled on its side and unfortunately, it has ended up with this result.

“It appears there was no seatbelt worn at this point in time; we come back to the Fatal Five but now is not the time to dwell on what they should have done.”

Inspector Cowan confirmed that no drugs, alcohol or dangerous driving caused the accident.

Images: Instagram

Piers Morgan slams Ukraine’s “sympathy” Eurovision win

Piers Morgan has slammed the winners of the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest, claiming the act from Ukraine won on a “sympathy vote”.

The rap group Kalush Orchestra were crowned winners of the annual contest for their song Stefania, with Morgan claiming that their musical talent was not considered in the voting process, but rather that their country is under attack.

In a Twitter post, the 57-year-old broadcaster wrote, “Nobody who voted for Ukraine thought it was the best song because it obviously wasn’t anywhere near the best. Even Ukrainians don’t think it was the best song.”

“They got the sympathy vote, which is fine as long as we drop the word ‘contest’ from Eurovision.”

Morgan also suggested that the contest is a “rigged farce” and suggested Ukraine would have won due to the highly publicised invasion by Russia, regardless of their act.

He added in a separate tweet, “The world’s most absurd, pointless, politically-motivated ‘contest’ excels itself. Ukraine could have sent one of its heroic bomb-sniffing dogs to bark the national anthem and still won. Happy for them, but please let’s stop calling #Eurovision a contest... it’s a rigged farce.”

Kalush Orchestra frontman Oleh Psiuk thinks that their winning song, which pays tribute to his mother, has been redefined as a rallying cry for Ukraine amid the devastating conflict with Russia.

He said, “After it all started with the war and the hostilities, it took on additional meaning, and many people started seeing it as their mother, Ukraine, in the meaning of the country.”

“It has become really close to the hearts of so many people in Ukraine.”

"Count them up": The mounting signs you could end up with long Covid

People who suffer from more than one symptom from Covid for a prolonged period of time are likely to end up with a debilitating condition.

Dr Anthony Byrne from St Vincent's Hospital in Sydney said the more symptoms one experiences due to Covid will see them more susceptible to long Covid.

According to NSW Health, long Covid refers to prolonged symptoms or lasting effects of a Covid-19 infection.

Some of the long-term symptoms include extreme tiredness, chest pain, shortness of breath, brain fog, memory loss and changes to taste and smell.

“The more symptoms you show when you have a diagnosis acutely, the more likely you are to go on to have long Covid,'' Dr Byrne told Daily Mail Australia.

“So if you just have the sniffles, that's probably fine, but if you've got a headache, shortness of breath, fever... count them up. If there's more than five, there's an increased risk of long Covid.”

Dr Byrne said we needed to remove the impression that young people are not susceptible to long Covid.

“I saw a high functioning, young individual, he was in a high-flying job, who got Covid in December and he hasn't been able to work since,” he said.

Dr Byrne explained that the patient now suffers sleep issues, crippling fatigue and his brain “doesn’t function properly” which is why he couldn’t go back.

There are different factors such as vaccination status, health conditions and old age, that could contribute to how someone experiences Covid and long Covid.

Image: Shutterstock

The stunning tourist spot that gives you that sinking feeling

Umpherston Sinkhole, also known as the Sunken Garden, is fast becoming a “must-see” tourist destination for local explorers of South Australia and its beautiful surrounds.

The stunning garden used to be a limestone cave in Mount Gambier, and is a five-hour drive from Adelaide or Melbourne.

The sinkhole became a garden in 1886 when Scottish emigrant farmer James Umpherston purchased the land after the cave’s chamber collapsed.

A gorgeous picturesque landscape, the sinkhole offers stunning views of a fountain, hydrangeas and tree ferns. Sheltered areas and easily accessible barbecue facilities make it the ideal place for a picnic – but be warned that unfortunately, access to the Garden is not currently pram or wheelchair friendly.

The garden is open every day from dawn till dusk, with possums emerging from their hiding spots to eat. Guests are even welcome to bring their own snacks to feed them.

City of Mount Gambier Mayor Lynette Martin said the Garden is a place to enjoy a unique experience.

“Set in a beautifully maintained park, this century-old Sunken Garden is home to an oasis of flowering hydrangeas,” she said.

“Appreciate its size from the viewing platforms at the top then wander down into the sinkhole to take in all its beauty.

“Enjoy a unique experience with a picnic or barbecue in the gardens and return at dusk to meet the resident possums who enjoy being fed fresh fruit.”

Images: Instagram

“Turn the cameras off!”: Trump storms out on Piers Morgan

Former US President Donald Trump has erupted at Piers Morgan before storming off the set of an interview that touched on the “stolen” US presidential election.

After Morgan lay the blame for last year’s deadly riots at the Capitol squarely at Trump’s feet – largely for his refusal to concede that he had lost the 2020 presidential election – Trump had had enough, and began screaming that Morgan was “dishonest” and “a fool”, before demanding that the shocked TV crew “turn the cameras off!”

Trump appears to have been deeply angered by a slew of barbs that Morgan has directed towards him during his time at the White House, despite being friends for at least 15 years. But in this instance, the pair appeared to clash heavily even before the interview had gotten underway – but while the cameras were rolling.

Morgan detailed the behind-the-scenes incident to news.com.au, saying that Trump stared at him with “undisguised fury” and was “almost foaming at the mouth”.

At one point, the Trump hissed at Morgan: “What the f**k is this?”

You’re not real. You’re a fake.” To which Piers replied: “No, I’m just brutally honest.”

Morgan revealed further details from the encounter:

“Normally, he’d greet me with a cheery smile and the words ‘How’s my champ?’ because I was his first Celebrity Apprentice on the series that made him a TV superstar. But this time, there were no such welcoming niceties.

“He was staring at me across his desk with undisguised fury, clutching the document entitled ‘Piers Morgan Comments About President Trump’. “What the f**k IS this?” he snarled. Then he began slowly reading out some of the quotes. “Trump’s a supreme narcissist….” Pause. “His pathetic antics in the past few weeks since losing the election in November have been utterly contemptible.” Pause. “Trump’s now too dangerous, he’s morphed into a monster that I no longer recognise as someone I considered to be a friend and thought I knew.”

“Each time he paused, he peered over the document at me, with mounting rage in his eyes.

“I’d never seen him so livid or felt so uncomfortable in his presence as I did right now in his office.

“He was almost foaming at the mouth and kept shaking his head slowly and menacingly at me, like Don Corleone when he felt he’d been disrespected.”

Morgan then went on to detail the moment Trump truly took issue with his questions:

“Things took a dramatic downward turn when I finally brought up his refusal to accept defeat in 2020 and the appalling scenes on January 6.

“I told him I believe he lost the supposedly “rigged, stolen” election, I repeatedly pointed out his failure to produce any evidence of the widespread voter fraud he insists occurred to rob him of his presidency, and I blamed his refusal to admit defeat for the deadly riots at the Capitol.

“Then you’re a fool!” he sneered. “And you haven’t studied!...”

“Now abandoning any pretence at cordiality, Trump ranted that he was far more honest than me, and again sneered that I wasn’t ‘real’ before haranguing me for exceeding our 20 minutes which was particularly disingenuous given that during all our previous interviews, he’d invariably decided exactly how long he wanted to keep talking.

“Incensed Trump tried to end things by declaring “That’s it!” before I reminded him that we hadn’t discussed his hole-in-one, which he then sat down again and did – briefly – before abruptly jumping to his feet, looking hateful, and barking at the shocked crew: “Turn the cameras off!”

“Then he turned on his heels, and sloped angrily off through a side door, loudly muttering “So dishonest…”

The world exclusive interview is due to air in Australia as the launch piece for Morgan’s new show Piers Uncensored on Sky News on Tuesday night at 9pm AEST.

Image: Piers Uncensored

Take a trip through an ancient home in Pompeii

Archeologists have recreated a Pompeiian villa that was destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 C.E.

Through the use of VR (virtual reality), researchers have carefully created a digital model of the ancient residence to better understand how visitors would have seen the home, according to the recently published paper in the archaeology journal Antiquity.

The villa, known as the House of the Epigrams, was excavated in the 1870s and so named because it contains mythical paintings accompanied by Greek epigrams.

While the identity of the owner is impossible to determine, researchers have suggested it may have belonged to a Lucius Valerius Flaccus due to a signet ring bearing his sigil being discovered there.

The paper, titled “Re-viewing Pompeian domestic space through combined virtual reality-based eye tracking and 3D GIS,” was written by PhD. candidate Danilo M. Campanaro and Professor Giacomo Landeschi, who are both affiliated with the Department of Archaeology and Ancient History, Lund University, Sweden.

Through extensive research, the authors of the paper have been able to determine what decorations to use in the recreation, as well as uncovering how the opulent villa would be viewed by residents of Pompeii of various social and economic classes.

This recreation is the first of its kind in the studies of ancient Pompeii, with the research findings showcasing a different quality of life for locals before their city was destroyed.

Did you know these 5 places could disappear in your lifetime?

When places are well-known and popular – historical and modern alike – we might take it for granted that they’ll be around forever. But sadly, many of the world’s best known and culturally significant landmarks are in jeopardy. Human activity has had a devastating effect on many valued places, including massive milestones of human achievement. And many of these are so much more than just tourist attractions – they’re unique, valuable remnants of ancient times and civilizations.

The Great Barrier Reef

This massive, once-thriving coral reef has suffered enormously over recent years, with coral bleaching – caused by climate change – stripping the coral of its nutrients. This, in turn, harms the rich marine life that calls the reef home. And, of course, this also depletes it of the dazzling colours that once were a hallmark of the Great Barrier Reef’s underwater wonder. The reef remains the largest coral reef ecosystem in the world, but projections have warned that the damage to it could become irreversible in the next 10 years.

Old City of Jerusalem

One of the world’s most spiritually significant places, the Old City of Jerusalem, is in danger of disappearing, UNESCO has found. The walls of the Old City are one of its trademark features. Most famously, the Western Wall, also known as the Wailing Wall, is a valuable pilgrimage site for people of the Jewish faith, one that dates back to around 20 BCE. The Wall is the only remnant of the city’s Second Temple. The city was actually listed on UNESCO’s list of endangered cultural sites in the 1980s. Widespread urbanisation has been found to pose a significant threat to the city.

Everglades National Park

This stunning Floridian wildlife sanctuary has sadly found itself fighting for its life in recent years. As ‘the largest designated subtropical wilderness reserve’ in North America, according to UNESCO, it’s been a beloved travel destination for American citizens for decades, but the ravages of time and human activity have not been kind to it. Its survival first came into question after it was battered by Hurricane Andrew in 1993. But it’s human influence that has posed the primary threat, as water flow to the site has decreased and the impacts of pollution have increased, resulting in harmful algal blooms. Its vast, diverse wildlife is more threatened than ever before.

The Taj Mahal

It’s hard to imagine this monolithic structure, located in Agra, India, being in danger. The structure itself is in some jeopardy from the elements, but the primary reason for concern is that the Indian Supreme Court could potentially close the attraction. The court has butted heads with the government, claiming that unless the government does a better job of preserving it, they’ll have to shut it down. Pollution is visibly altering the Taj’s pristine surface. It’s also experienced insect infestations. Flies of the genus Geoldichironomus, which breed in the heavily polluted Yamuna River, neighbouring the Taj, have encroached upon the structure in recent years.

Mount Kilimanjaro’s peak

This revered mountain, one of the Seven Summits, proves that even giants can fall to climate change. While the mountain itself, located in Tanzania, isn’t in imminent danger, its iconic snow cap might vanish – and shockingly soon. Research found that the snow cap had lost 85 per cent of the total area of its ice fields between 1912 and 2007, and the remaining ice could be history as early as 2030.

Written by Meghan Jones. Piers Morgan’s Meghan Markle comments cleared

Piers Morgan has been cleared by British media regulator Ofcom, after it received a record 58,000 complaints about Morgan’s criticisms of Meghan Markle.

The former Good Morning Britain host said he didn’t believe what Meghan said during her and her husband’s controversial Oprah Winfrey interview, prompting the duchess to file complaints with the regulator and ITV.

Ofcom said restricting Morgan’s views would be a “chilling restriction” on free expression, though it criticised his “apparent disregard” for the topic of suicide.

In particular, Morgan expressed disbelief at Meghan’s claims of experiencing suicidal thoughts and struggling with her mental health while performing her royal duties.

Royal author Angela Levin claimed the duchess would be “absolutely livid” with the decision and may pursue further legal action.

“She can’t cope with someone saying she didn’t tell the truth. Because she is all about compassion and understanding and caring for people,” Ms Levin told The Sun.

Speaking outside his home, Morgan said he “wasn’t really sure why I lost [my job] in the first place”.

He added that Ofcom had “emphatically endorsed my right to not believe what the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were saying”.

Taking to Twitter, the 56-year-old journalist wrote: “I’m delighted OFCOM has endorsed my right to disbelieve the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s incendiary claims to Oprah Winfrey, many of which have proven to be untrue.

I’m delighted OFCOM has endorsed my right to disbelieve the Duke & Duchess of Sussex’s incendiary claims to Oprah Winfrey, many of which have proven to be untrue. Do I get my job back?”

In a lengthy statement about the ruling, Ofcom said the incident “became a major international news story and we acknowledged it was both legitimate and in the public interest of ITV to broadcast debates featuring presenters such as Mr Morgan scrutinising those allegations”.

“Consistent with freedom of expression, Mr Morgan was entitled to say he disbelieved the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s allegations and to hold and express strong views that rigorously challenged their account.

“The [Ofcom broadcasting] code allows for individuals to express strongly held and robustly argued views, including those that are potentially harmful or highly offensive, and for broadcasters to include these in their programming.

“The restriction of such views would, in our view, be an unwarranted and chilling restriction on freedom of expression both of the broadcaster and the audience.

“We were particularly concerned about Mr Morgan’s approach to such an important and serious issue and his apparent disregard for the seriousness of anyone expressing suicidal thoughts.”

However, the regulator noted the importance of co-hosts Susanna Reid and Chris Ship challenging his views, which provided “adequate protection for viewers”.

Image: Getty Images
